Are the Women in Business the strongest and most well connected of Do-Gooders in the Snoqualmie Valley? Or could it perhaps be the Kiwanis? How about the Chamber of Commerce or the Rotarians? Well, there is only one way to find out – the Do-Gooder Showdown of 2010!
The Rub:
Encompass is selling tickets to four exclusive Winemaker Dinners as part of the Sip of Snoqualmie fundraiser (download flyer here) . The proceeds from these tickets will support critical programs in our community. Encompass needs help getting the word and selling tickets to the Winemaker Dinners.
The Challenge:
It’s a contest to the death! Not really, but it is a very serious challenge to each of the four leadership groups in our community to see who can sell the most tickets to the Winemaker Dinners. Prove your can move mountains to support the children of our community! Forward the invitation to your entire group so your members can forward it out to their network. Organize groups to fill a table for a dinner. Buy pairs of tickets as Valentine’s Day gifts. Sell, sell, sell those tickets!
The Prize:
6 general admission tickets to the fabulous Sip of Snoqualmie for the DoGooder organization who sells the most tickets.
The Details:
Tickets can be purchased at encompassnw.org. There will be a drop down menu on the purchase page that says Organization Challenge. The ticket purchaser can pick from the list. Tickets must be purchased by February 19th. Encompass will notify all of the Do-Gooders who has referred the most ticket sales and award the prize to the winner of the Showdown.

North Bend Mayor Ken Hearing has announced that Jill Massengill and Jan Marie Johnson have been named as the 2009 Citizens of the Year!
“We are fortunate to have these two bright women who dedicate an incredible amount of time, energy, enthusiasm and skill to put on the annual Festival at Mt Si. They do a difficult, time consuming, and exhausting job without compensation or recognition”, said Mayor Ken Hearing, “I can think of no one who deserves this honor and recognition more in our Centennial Year than Jill and Jan Marie”.
The two were honored during the December 8th Special City Council Meeting. Jill Massengill is the Festival at Mt Si Committee President and Jan Marie Johnson is the Festival’s Executive Director. Together with a group of dedicated volunteers they work to provide family entertainment, local business marketing opportunities, civic pride and a whole lot of fun for over 25,000 residents and guests at the annual Festival at Mt Si. This year they outdid themselves and not only helped the City to celebrate its Centennial and hold its 100th Birthday party during the Festival, but also provided significant support to the Downtown Block Party.
Mayor Hearing noted “Our community is a better place because of the extraordinary efforts that Jill and Jan Marie make every year to ensure that North Bend’s Festival at Mt Si is the wonderful event and success that it is. They help to create a sense of community for us all”.
The Mayor also presented Centennial Celebration Awards during the meeting. Jolene Kelly was honored for her outstanding community service and significant contribution as the Downtown Centennial Block Party Coordinator. Jolene worked tirelessly on planning and coordinating the party, and she had a huge impact on the success of the event. Dick & Sallie Burhans were honored for their generous contributions of time and energy in creating the ‘Downtown Centennial Mural’, the travelling ‘Centennial Birthday Card’, and for envisioning and working to create the fabulous ‘Arts at Festival Hall’ that so many local artists and talents participated in. Thank you and Congratulations to all.
