HISTORY & MISSION
WHAT MOTIVATED THE START OF THE GROUP, AND WHEN DID THE GROUP BEGIN MEETING?
SVWIB was originally a SnoValley Chamber of Commerce Committee. However, they broke off to become their own non-profit in 2008, as the feeling was at that time that the Chamber was rather 'an old boys' club' and not embracing the Committee. SVWIB became a networking group that has evolved over the years into an entity of its own.

PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE OPEN TO MEMBERS OF SVWIB?
SVWIB meets twice a month, once for a formal networking luncheon with a speaker. The other an informal after-hours at rotating local bars/restaurants.
Multi-page directory listing on the SVWIB website, alone worth the $75 membership fee.
Lunches include formal and informal networking opportunities.
Professional speakers are engaged to present talks offering valuable tips for business, family and life.
At the luncheons, members have the opportunity to become Lunch Sponsors, with the opportunity to speak for 5 minutes, exclusive rights to put marketing materials etc. on the lunch tables, be promoted on our website as a featured member, as well as promotion in all on-line marketing for the event. PowerPoint presentation, with head shots and logo display at the luncheon. This is a first come, first served, $50 opportunity.
All members attending lunch are given the once a year opportunity to win a 2 minute speaking gig. PowerPoint presentation, with head shots and logo display at the luncheon.
Testimonials. Each lunch we have a 'sister to sister' round robin with the microphone, where members can say sweet things about other members whose services they have used. The website directory is also a place to put testimonials for members.
Coupons can be posted on the website, including discounts and special promotions.
One-on-one meetings outside the group are actively encouraged and demonstrated by the BOD. To promote, we have a monthly free draw for lunch the following month for those who participate in connecting.
SVWIB is affiliated with the SVCC, enabling members to attend SVCC events at SVCC member pricing, and bringing SVCC members to our events, thereby spreading the network beyond our membership.
We are affiliated with the local newspaper, Valley Record, which means each year membership includes a directory listing in the ‘Women In Business’ section of the paper, along with a photo spread of the associated lunch attendees. Additionally, members are given a discount on private advertising rates.
We have an active FaceBook group where members and non-members can share on social media.

SVWIB is professional and at the same time welcoming. Our Mission Statement expressed our core value of inclusivity:
We help connect professional women and business owners that support in-person and on-line business growth, while developing lasting relationships through a warm and authenticity-based networking environment.
It's about supporting women, as opposed to being women. Our membership includes both men and other non-profit and professional organizations. Our members include at-home moms with part-time business ventures, full-time professional self-employed people, those who work for corporations and those who simply want to be part of our community. Our tag-line 'Building business through building relationships' has us uniquely situated in the growing networking market, as modern, on task, inclusive and supportive.
SVWIB invites business women who live and/or work in the Snoqualmie Valley to join us at one of our monthly luncheons (second Wednesday of each month).
